The most common situations and how to resolve them are below. If you cannot find what you need, see the contact section — we usually reply within one business day.

Connecting accounts

I cannot connect my Instagram account; it says a professional account is required

Instagram's publishing API works only with Business or Creator (professional) accounts. Personal accounts cannot publish through the API — that is Instagram's rule, not our choice.

To convert:

  1. Instagram app → Profile → menu → Settings and privacy
  2. Account type and toolsSwitch to professional account
  3. Pick a category, choose Creator or Business, complete the steps
  4. Come back to PostInAll and try connecting again

Converting is free and can be undone at any time.

Do I need a Facebook Page for Instagram?

No. Since July 2024 Instagram allows publishing with a direct Instagram login; you do not need to attach a separate Facebook Page. The advice still circulating online that "a Facebook Page is mandatory" is out of date.

Facebook Reels are a different matter: Facebook's API is closed to personal profiles, so posts can only go to Pages.

My account connection keeps dropping

Platforms expire access tokens at intervals; changing your password, resetting two-factor authentication or revoking the permission in the platform's settings also breaks the connection.

PostInAll monitors connection health and notifies you before a connection expires (for example "your Instagram connection needs renewing within 3 days"). When you see the notification you can refresh it with one tap from the Accounts screen.

If it happens often: you may be signed in to the same platform through several apps, or there may be a security alert on your platform account. If the problem persists, remove the account and connect it again; if that does not help, write to us.

Why do Telegram and Discord connections work differently?

Those two platforms have no OAuth "connect account" flow. For Telegram you enter a bot token obtained from BotFather and the id of the channel where the bot is an administrator; for Discord you enter a webhook address created in the channel settings.

Both count as secrets: they are stored encrypted, never written to any log, and used only for publishing. The connect screen in the app walks you through obtaining them.

Publishing problems

Why is my TikTok post only visible to me?

There are two possible reasons:

  1. You chose it. The visibility selector on the TikTok card has no default; you pick one for every post. Check your selection.
  2. The app's TikTok content posting audit is not complete yet. TikTok forces all posts from unaudited apps to "only me" visibility. When that is the case we say so plainly on the TikTok card.

Important: posts made before the audit is complete cannot be made public afterwards. If the video needs to be public, it is better to drop TikTok from the post until the audit is done.

Why is no visibility option preselected on TikTok?

This is a deliberate design decision and also a rule TikTok sets for apps: the visibility choice must be made by the user, not defaulted by the app. The same principle applies to the comment, duet and stitch checkboxes: they are unchecked by default.

Why did my YouTube upload stay private?

YouTube automatically locks videos uploaded from projects that have not passed the API compliance audit to private. This is a protection mechanism YouTube applies.

If the app's audit is not complete we tell you on the YouTube card in advance, and you decide whether to upload. The video stays in YouTube Studio; once the audit is complete you can change its visibility yourself from YouTube Studio.

Why did my YouTube description run out of room early?

The YouTube description counts bytes, not characters. Accented and non-Latin characters take 2 or more bytes and most emoji take 4. A text can therefore exceed the byte limit while its character count is still under it.

The same logic differs on every platform: TikTok counts UTF-16 units (an emoji counts as 2), Instagram counts Unicode characters, and Bluesky counts graphemes (the characters a reader sees). The PostInAll counter calculates each platform separately, so whatever the counter says is what the API will see.

My post partially failed; what should I do?

In the publishing receipt every platform's result is a separate line. On a failed line you get two options:

  • Retry — the same content, only the failed destinations. Because every destination has a stable idempotency key, the same video is never sent to the same account twice.
  • Fix and retry — the composer opens with only that platform's context; destinations that are already live are locked.

For network errors we make two silent automatic attempts and only tell you if those also fail. Your video and text are preserved in every case.

My scheduled post did not go out on time

Common causes:

  • The connection expired. We re-check scheduled posts 15 minutes before their time; if something is wrong, a "post at risk" notification is sent.
  • The platform's daily quota is used up. In that case the post is postponed and the receipt states the reason.
  • Processing delay on the platform side. The video may still be in a "processing" state; that can take a few minutes.

The publishing log on the Activity screen shows a timestamped history of every attempt.

Can I add music to my video?

No. Platform-licensed music libraries are not available through the APIs; no third-party app can do it. You need to add music while editing the video (for example in your own editing app).

A licensed track added from one platform's library is licensed only on that platform. When you upload the same video elsewhere, the content may be blocked, muted, or become the subject of a revenue claim.

Subscriptions, billing and cancellation

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are cancelled through the store you bought them from:

  • iPhone/iPad: Settings → (your name) → Subscriptions → PostInAll → Cancel Subscription
  • Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → PostInAll → Cancel subscription

Deleting the app from your phone does not cancel the subscription. To stop being charged you must cancel through the store.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; you keep the paid features until then.

I want a refund

Because payment was made to the store rather than to us, refunds are handled by the store:

If a fault prevented you from using the service, write to us: we will look into it and provide the technical information needed to support your request with the store. See Terms of Service 11.4 for details.

What is included in the free plan?

The free plan includes a limited number of platforms, a monthly post quota and the basic pre-flight check. The current scope and price of each plan is shown in the app and on the store page; regional price differences come from store pricing rules.

Privacy and data

How long do my videos stay on your servers?

No longer than 72 hours after publishing. That window exists so we can retry if a platform fails. Unpublished draft videos are deleted after at most 7 days. See Privacy Policy, section 10 for details.

Why doesn't the app ask for gallery permission?

Because we do not need it. On iOS the system photo picker and on Android the system photo picker is used: you select a video and the app is handed only that file. We have no access to the rest of your gallery, so there is no permission dialog.

How do I delete my account?

In the app go to Settings → Delete my account, or use the form on the account deletion page. What is deleted, and what is retained and for how long, is listed line by line on that page.

You can follow the state of your deletion request with your confirmation code on the data deletion status page.

How do I revoke platform permissions from my own side?
  • Instagram: Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites
  • Facebook: Settings → Business integrations
  • TikTok: Settings and privacy → Security and permissions → Manage app permissions
  • Google/YouTube: security.google.com/settings/security/permissions

Choosing "Disconnect" from the Accounts screen in the app does the same thing and also deletes our copy.

Contact

If you could not find the answer, write to us: destek@postinall.app

Our target response time is one business day. To help us resolve the problem faster, please include:

  • Your account's email address
  • The platform where the problem occurred (for example Instagram Reels)
  • The error text the app showed, or a screenshot of the receipt line
  • The approximate date and time
  • Your device model, operating system version and app version (shown at the bottom of the Settings screen)
What you should never send

Do not email us your password, platform access tokens, Telegram bot token or Discord webhook address. We never ask for them, and we can solve the problem without them.
