Connecting accounts

I cannot connect my Instagram account; it says a professional account is required

Switching your account to a professional one is all it takes. It is free, takes a couple of minutes, and you can undo it whenever you like.

  1. Instagram app → Profile → menu → Settings and privacy
  2. Account type and tools → Switch to professional account
  3. Pick a category, choose Creator or Business, complete the steps
  4. Come back to PostInAll and try connecting again

The reason: Instagram only lets outside apps publish from Business and Creator accounts. That is Instagram's rule, not our choice.

Do I need a Facebook Page for Instagram?

No. Since July 2024 an Instagram login on its own is enough; you do not need to attach a separate Facebook Page. The advice still circulating online that "a Facebook Page is mandatory" is out of date.

Facebook Reels are a different matter: Facebook does not let outside apps post to personal profiles, so posts can only go to Pages.

My account connection keeps dropping

The "Reconnect" button on the Accounts screen fixes it in one tap. We also notify you before it drops — "your Instagram connection needs renewing within 3 days". Tap that notification and your posting is never interrupted.

A connection drops when:

  • the permission you gave runs out on the schedule the platform sets;
  • you change your password or reset two-factor authentication;
  • you revoke the permission in the platform's own settings.

If it keeps happening, remove the account and connect it again; it usually comes from a security alert on your platform account. If that does not help, write to us.

Why do Telegram and Discord connections work differently?

Those two have no "sign in with your account" button. Instead you copy an address that belongs to your channel and paste it in. The connect screen in the app shows you where to get it, step by step; the setup takes about a minute.

  • Telegram: you get a bot key from BotFather (a long piece of text that acts as your bot's password) and make the bot an administrator of your channel.
  • Discord: you create a webhook address in the channel settings — that is what Discord's own menu calls it; for you it means "the private address of the channel your post lands in".

Both are as private as a password: stored encrypted, never written to any log, and used only for publishing.

Publishing problems

Why is my TikTok post only visible to me?

Start with the TikTok line on your publish receipt — it records which visibility the post went out with. There are two possibilities:

  1. You picked "Only me". The TikTok card's "Who can view this?" is never preselected; you choose it for every post. Tap "Public" on your next one.
  2. TikTok's approval process for our app is not finished yet. While it runs, TikTok keeps every video sent from our app at "only me" — whatever you picked. When that is the case, the TikTok card says so before you post.

Important: videos posted before that approval finishes cannot be made public afterwards. If the video needs to be public, leave TikTok out of the post for as long as you see that warning.

Why is "Who can view this?" not preselected on TikTok?

Because TikTok requires it: this must be chosen by the person posting the video, not by the app. The comment, duet and stitch boxes arrive empty for the same reason.

What we can do is keep the choice short: the options sit side by side, one tap is enough, and no second confirmation screen follows.

Why did my YouTube upload stay private?

This one can be undone: the video is sitting in YouTube Studio and you can make it public from there yourself. (Do not confuse it with the TikTok case — that one cannot be changed afterwards.)

The reason: until YouTube's approval process for our app is finished, YouTube makes videos uploaded from here private on its own. When that is the case, the YouTube card says so before you post, and you decide whether to upload.

Why did my YouTube description run out of room early?

Accented letters and emoji take up more than one letter's worth of room in YouTube's eyes. Accented and non-Latin letters count as two, most emoji as four. So your text can fill up while the number of letters you counted is still under the limit.

Every platform counts this differently. The counter in the app works each one out separately and shows you the tightest limit: if the counter is not full, the platform will not say it is either.

My post partially failed; what should I do?

Tap the button on the failed line — that is all. In the publish receipt every platform's result is a separate line, and the ones that succeeded are left alone.

  • Retry — the same content, only the platforms that failed. The same video is never sent to the same account twice, so retrying cannot create a duplicate.
  • Fix and retry — the "New post" screen opens for that platform only; platforms that are already live stay locked.

When the internet drops, the app already retries twice quietly in the background and only tells you if those fail too. Your video and text are kept either way.

My scheduled post did not go out on time

The publish log on the Activity screen tells you why, with the time of every attempt. The usual causes:

  • The connection had expired. We re-check scheduled posts 15 minutes before their time; if something is wrong, a "post at risk" notification goes out.
  • The platform's daily posting allowance is used up. The post is postponed and the reason is written into the receipt.
  • The platform is still processing the video. That can take a few minutes.
Can I add music to my video?

No — you need to add music while editing the video, in your own editing app. Platforms keep their licensed music libraries closed to outside apps; no publishing app can pull a track from them.

A licensed track added from one platform's library is licensed only on that platform. When you upload the same video elsewhere, the content may be blocked, muted, or become the subject of a revenue claim.

Subscriptions, billing and cancellation

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are cancelled through the store you bought them from:

  • iPhone/iPad: Settings → (your name) → Subscriptions → PostInAll → Cancel Subscription
  • Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → PostInAll → Cancel subscription

Deleting the app from your phone does not cancel the subscription. To stop being charged you must cancel through the store.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; you keep the paid features until then.

I want a refund

Because payment was made to the store rather than to us, refunds are handled by the store:

If a fault prevented you from using the service, write to us: we will look into it and provide the technical information needed to support your request with the store. See Terms of Service 11.4 for details.

What is included in the free plan?

The free plan includes a limited number of platforms, a monthly post allowance and the basic pre-flight check. The current scope and price of each plan is shown in the app and on the store page; regional price differences come from store pricing rules.

Privacy and data

How long do my videos stay on your servers?

No longer than 72 hours after publishing. That window exists so we can retry if a platform fails. Unpublished draft videos are deleted after at most 7 days. See Privacy Policy, section 10 for details.

Why doesn't the app ask for gallery permission?

Because we do not need it. On iOS the system photo picker and on Android the system photo picker is used: you select a video and the app is handed only that file. We have no access to the rest of your gallery, so there is no permission dialog.

How do I delete my account?

In the app go to Settings → Delete my account, or use the form on the account deletion page. What is deleted, and what is retained and for how long, is listed line by line on that page.

You can follow the state of your deletion request with your confirmation code on the data deletion status page.

How do I revoke platform permissions from my own side?
  • Instagram: Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites
  • Facebook: Settings → Business integrations
  • TikTok: Settings and privacy → Security and permissions → Manage app permissions
  • Google/YouTube: security.google.com/settings/security/permissions

Choosing "Disconnect" from the Accounts screen in the app does the same thing and also deletes our copy.

Platform limits

These are the platforms' rules, not our choices. The app states the same thing in the same places.

Constraints imposed by the platforms that you need to know about
Topic Limit How the app handles it
Instagram account type Outside apps cannot post to personal accounts; yours must be a Business or Creator (professional) account. A Facebook Page is not required. The connect screen explains the conversion steps, and you are warned before connecting if a personal account is detected.
TikTok visibility You answer "Who can view this?" on every post; preselecting it is forbidden by TikTok. Videos posted before TikTok's approval of the app is complete stay at "only me" and cannot be made public afterwards. When that is the case, the TikTok card says so before you post. The choice takes one tap; the comment, duet and stitch boxes also arrive empty.
YouTube approval Until YouTube's approval of the app is complete, YouTube may make videos uploaded through it private. Unlike TikTok's case, this can be undone. When that is the case, the YouTube card says so and you decide whether to upload. You can change the visibility later from YouTube Studio.
Music Platform-licensed music libraries are closed to outside apps. The app never adds music to your video. You declare that you hold the rights to the audio in it; licences do not travel between platforms.
Watermarks Removing watermarks violates platform rules and app store policies. There is no watermark removal feature. If a watermark is detected we only show a warning; upload the clean source file instead.
Scheduling Most platforms will not let a post sent from outside be set for a later time (YouTube is the exception). Scheduled posts wait on our server and are sent when the time comes; on YouTube the platform's own scheduling is used.
